Roof Repair Services

Our roofs are the most important part of our homes, offices, and other places of work. They keep us dry in the rain, and cool during the hottest days of the year.

Roofs can be made of a wide range of materials, from rubber and bitumen for flat roofing, to lead and slate for sloped tiles. No matter what they are made of, at some point your roof will need repairs.

When this is the case, turn to Daniel Scott Roofing for professional roof repairs. From a simple jetwash to a full replacement, there’s no roof repair job we can’t handle.

Types of Roof Damage

There are a few ways that a roof can become damaged.

The most common is, as you might expect, bad weather. Even lead tiles, which are the toughest material, can’t withstand decades of wind, rain, snow, and more without gaining some wear and tear.

A few missing tiles after a storm might not seem like a big deal, but it can lead to serious damage if you ignore it. Your tiles work as a unit, a single unbroken barrier against the elements. When there is a gap, it’s easy for water to seep inside. This can cause leaks, damp, and even mould. A cracked tile or two can be just as bad and is harder to spot from ground level.

It isn’t just tiles that can be damaged by bad weather. The flashing between the tiles, your chimney, fascias, soffits, and guttering can all become damaged if we get a rough winter or one too many April showers.

Roof Repair Assessment

Sometimes your tiles still need some TLC even if they aren’t clearly damaged. We can re-bed and re-point the tiles, as well as giving them a thorough clean, so they will last much longer. Often a clean reveals any damage before it causes a bigger issue, saving you money in the long run.

Unless you’re a roofer, inspecting your roof yourself won’t reveal any issues unless they are obvious. If your roof is damaged, going up to take a look could be dangerous too; it’s best to leave it to the professionals.

We will conduct a thorough assessment of your roof. Once we’ve found the cause of your issue, we explain your options in detail so you can decide what they next step should be.

A roof repair is also an opportunity. That may seem strange but consider this: if you’ve been thinking about a loft conversion, or redoing your roof anyway, you could save yourself time and effort by combining both jobs into one. We aren’t suggesting you should wait for your roof to be damaged before doing it up, but it’s something to keep in mind if the worst does happen.
