Who we are

This website is operated by Daniel Scott Roofing Ltd, a roofing contractor based in Stockport serving the surrounding East Cheshire area. We are a company registered in England (company number 09376588), with our office at G6 Hallam Mill, Hallam Street, Stockport, SK2 6PT.

We are the data controller for the personal information described here. We take your privacy seriously and only collect the information we genuinely need to answer your enquiry and run this website.

The information we collect

We only collect personal information in two situations.

1. Enquiry details you give us

When you contact us by phone, by email, or through one of the contact or quote forms on this website, we collect the details you choose to share. Typically that is your name, your phone number, your email address, the address or area of the property, and a description of the roofing work you are enquiring about.

Our online forms are handled by a third party form service (Web3Forms), which receives your message and forwards it to our company email inbox. We use this information only to respond to you, prepare a quote, and carry out any work you ask us to.

2. Website analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed and how people found us, so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location (not your exact address), the type of device and browser you use, and the pages you visit.

Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner. If you do not accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and this information is not collected. This website does not take payments or collect any special category data.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and provide our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running our business and replying to people who contact us, and, where you ask us to carry out work, taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you.
• To improve our website using analytics. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by accepting analytics cookies. You can withdraw it at any time (see Cookies below).
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations. Where we have carried out work, we may need to keep certain records to comply with tax, accounting, and guarantee obligations.

All roofing work is carried out by our own in-house team, so we do not pass your enquiry to outside subcontractors.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them. If your enquiry does not lead to work, we hold it for a short period in case you get back in touch, then delete it. Where we have carried out work for you, we keep the relevant records for as long as needed to support guarantees and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained in line with our Google Analytics settings.

Where your information is held

Your enquiry details are held in our company email and business systems. Some of our service providers, including Google, may process information on servers outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the appropriate safeguards required under UK data protection law.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and to prevent unauthorised access. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
