Our Story
Daniel Scott Roofing was built on a simple idea: that roofing work across Stockport and East Cheshire deserved a company that would treat every job with the same care and honesty, whether it was a straightforward repair or a complex full re-roof on a character property. Daniel started the business over 20 years ago, and that founding principle hasn't changed.
What has changed is the scale. We've grown into an 18-strong team with three people in the office keeping everything running smoothly, a fully qualified workforce on the tools, and a reputation across Stockport and East Cheshire that we're genuinely proud of. It's still a family business at its core, and that shows in the way we work.
The Person Behind the Business
Daniel Scott has been on the tools for more than twenty years, and the company still carries his name for a reason: it's built around the standards he works to personally.
His expertise sits particularly in leadwork and on heritage and conservation properties, where sympathetic detailing and traditional technique matter as much as weatherproofing. It's the kind of experience that only comes from years spent on period roofs across Stockport and East Cheshire.
Daniel is grounded in the area. He lives and works locally, and he still spends time on site on the jobs that need his eye. When you speak to the team, you're speaking to people who are connected directly to him and to the standard he expects.
How We Work
There are no subcontractors on our jobs. Every quote, including the first site visit, is done by the owner Daniel himself, and every member of the team that carries out the work is employed by us. That means accountability from the first site visit through to the final sign-off. The same standards, the same faces, the same lines of communication throughout.
Building control is handled in-house. On re-roofs, structural works, and conversions where notifications and sign-offs are required, we manage the process from start to finish so you don't have to coordinate between trades and the local authority yourself.
Quotes are written, itemised, and explained properly. We'll visit the property, talk through the scope with you in plain terms, and set out what's included (materials, access, labour, scaffold, and waste) before any commitment is made. Larger projects are planned with clear start dates, realistic timelines, and a named point of contact running the job.
Our Hallam Mill office is always reachable. Three people run the office day-to-day, so if you have questions before, during, or after the work, there's a direct line and a real person at the end of it, not a voicemail or a callback promise.
