Family-run Stockport roofing company with 20+ years' experience. New roofs, flat roofing, loft conversions and repairs across Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Hazel Grove, Marple and all Stockport areas. Fully insured & Free quotes
Every roof is handled by our own in-house roofers. We never use subcontractors. Whether we’re restoring a heritage slate roof in Bramhall or fitting a high-performance EPDM flat roof on a modern extension in Cheadle Hulme, we keep it straightforward: turn up when we say we will, do the job properly, and leave the place tidy.
Our roofers hold City & Guilds, NVQ, and CSCS qualifications and work to British Standards. We’re CORC and TrustATrader approved, fully insured, and all major works come with CORC insurance-backed guarantees.
Our five-star Google reviews from Stockport homeowners didn’t come from clever marketing. They came from doing the job properly. That means a free written quote and an honest read on what your roof actually needs.
Every credential is one we’ve earned through audit, training, or peer review.
Our Specialist Roofing Services across Stockport
Three roofing services we’ve built our name on: new roofs, flat roofing, and loft conversions. Carried out by our own in-house team across Stockport and East Cheshire.
New Roofs & Full Replacements
When your roof has reached the end of its life, we strip it back to the rafters and rebuild from the felt up using your choice of natural slate, concrete tile, or heritage stone. Carried out by our in-house roofers across Stockport, signed off under our NFRC Competent Person Scheme registration, and backed by a CORC insurance-backed guarantee.
We install flat roofing in EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass, and traditional lead. Whether it’s an extension, garage, dormer, or bay window, every install includes proper falls for drainage, modern insulation, and a 10-year guarantee. We also repair existing flat roofs across Stockport.
Most of a loft conversion is roofing work: cutting in dormers, raising the ridge, fitting Velux windows, insulating, weatherproofing. That’s our trade. We carry out dormer, Velux-only, hip-to-gable, and L-shaped loft conversions across Stockport, with Building Regs signed off in-house under our NFRC Competent Person Scheme registration.
If we come out to a leak anywhere across Stockport and East Cheshire, we don’t leave until it’s stopped. Full repair on the day if we can, temporary fix if we can’t. Either way, your roof is watertight when we go.
We handle everything a roof might need. Leadwork, chimney repairs, fascias, soffits, guttering, Velux installations, and commercial roofing across Stockport and East Cheshire.

“Daniel Scott Roofing completed a total re-roof of my old bungalow in 2024, including new gutters, downpipes, fascias, plus additional work inside the roof space, and I am very pleased indeed with the results. As the company is a member of CORC I was able to obtain an insurance-backed guarantee, in addition to Daniel Scott's own 10-year guarantee.”
“After asking for recommendations for roofing in Stockport, Dan and his team came up several times and they did not disappoint. They did a full roof replacement on my Victorian property and I could not be happier with the clean, friendly service, quality and communication. If anyone is looking for a roofer in Stockport or the surrounding areas, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.”

“We've just had the Velux windows replaced in our attic conversion in Heaton Moor by Dan and his team. After struggling to find a company to do the work, Dan impressed us with his professionalism and knowledge. He gave us good advice on the type of window to buy and provided a detailed written quote. The windows were expertly fitted by Matt and Cody who were pleasant and considerate workers. I've already recommended Daniel Scott Roofing to a friend as we were so pleased with their work in our home.”

“We are really happy with our new roof and the work Dan and his crew carried out. The working conditions were tough on the lads as space was tight and some hefty roadworks were taking place outside too. Dan's team were always understanding, flexible and hard working. We've already had neighbours asking who we used, and I have had no hesitation in recommending Daniel Scott Roofing for anyone needing a roofer in Bramhall.”
“Recently had a lead bay window roof replaced plus flashings. Couldn't have asked for more from Daniel and Sean. From start to finish they delivered a professional service, second to none. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of any roofing or repair issues.”
“We had our chimney repaired and a leaking gully re-leaded by Shaun from Daniel Scott Roofing. We were very impressed with the care and workmanship involved because the lead had to be soldered and shaped in a particular way. Shaun arrived first thing and clearly took pride in his work. Daniel was very easy to communicate with and always answered messages and followed up when I had a query afterwards. Very impressed and would definitely recommend!”
Roofing Across Stockport: One Borough, Very Different Roofs
We have spent twenty years as roofers in Stockport, and the one thing it teaches you is that this is not one place to roof.
East side or valley, not the same roof
Stockport climbs from the river valley to the Pennine edge. Up around Marple, Mellor, High Lane and Disley, roofs take far more wind-driven rain, so ridges, verges and flashings fail sooner. Down in Heaton Moor, Cheadle and Reddish it is the opposite: shaded slate holding moss, valleys blocking under heavy tree cover. A Stockport roofer who treats both the same has not worked both.
Stone, slate and tile, matched properly
Older eastern and rural properties wear Pennine gritstone flags and natural slate. The suburbs are clay and concrete tile. When a heritage roof fails in a conservation area like Heaton Moor or the older Marple and Mellor cores, you cannot just tile over it. It has to match, and the structure has to carry the weight: a different job, and a different cost, done right.
One scheme, every council we cross
Our patch does not stop at the Stockport boundary. Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Macclesfield and Poynton sit in Cheshire East, the eastern fringe runs into High Peak and Tameside, and parts of the west touch Manchester. Our NFRC Competent Person Scheme certification is recognised by all of them, so a re-roof in Disley is signed off exactly the same way as one in Edgeley, with nothing different for you to arrange.
A real local roofer, not a doorknocker
After a storm, Greater Manchester fills with out-of-area callers with no fixed address. We have a registered office at Hallam Mill, SK2, an in-house team, and every quote, including the first site visit, is done by the owner Daniel himself. The jobs we get called back to fix are the same few done badly: a split lead bay-window roof leaking inside, a chimney gully smeared with sealant, access rushed on a tight street.
No vague day rates, no figure that creeps up later. Here is what goes into a quote, and where to see real pricing for each job.
Always itemised in your quote
Labour, broken down by task, not one lump sum.
Materials, with products and quantities named.
Scaffolding, access, skip hire and waste removal.
VAT, shown clearly and separately.
What changes the price
Roof size and pitch.
Access and scaffolding for the property.
The materials you choose.
The condition of the structure underneath, seen once stripped back.
If we find something not visible from the ground, such as rotten timber under the felt, we stop, show you, and agree the cost of doing it properly before carrying on. It is never quietly added to the final bill. Some larger jobs need a deposit for materials and scaffolding; where that applies it is agreed up front and shown on the quote.
Straight answers on cost, building regulations, guarantees and the areas we cover.
How much does a new roof cost in Stockport?
There is no single figure, because the price depends on the size and pitch of your roof, the materials you choose (natural slate, concrete tile or heritage stone), access and scaffolding, and the condition of the timber underneath once we strip it back. Rather than quote a number that changes later, we give you a free written quote with every cost itemised, from labour and materials to scaffolding and waste removal, so you can see exactly what you are paying for before any work begins. See more on new roofs and full re-roofs.
Do I need building regulations for a new roof in Stockport?
Yes. If more than 25% of your roof covering is replaced, the work must meet Building Regulations. We are members of the NFRC Competent Person Scheme, a government-authorised register, so we certify the work ourselves and issue your Building Regulations compliance certificate. There is no separate council application, no inspector visit and no extra council fees for you. This applies whether your property falls under Stockport Council or a neighbouring authority such as Cheshire East, Tameside or Manchester. This is covered in full on our new roofs page.
Which areas of Stockport do you cover?
We cover all of Stockport and the surrounding towns, including Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Hazel Grove and Marple, along with Romiley, Bredbury, Woodley, Reddish, Offerton, Edgeley, High Lane and Poynton, plus parts of East Cheshire. See the full list of areas we cover.
Are you insured and is your work guaranteed?
Yes. We are fully insured and every major project comes with our own ten year workmanship guarantee. As accredited members of CORC, the Confederation of Roofing Contractors, your guarantee is also insurance-backed, so the cover still stands in the unlikely event the company ceases trading. More about our team and accreditations is on the about us page.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every roof is fitted by our own in-house team of City & Guilds, NVQ and CSCS qualified roofers. Every quote, including the first site visit, is done by the owner Daniel himself, and the work is carried out by our employed in-house team.
How quickly can you deal with a roof leak or storm damage?
We aim to respond to leaks and storm damage across Stockport the same day or the next working day. If we cannot complete a full repair on the first visit, we make the roof watertight before we leave and then return to finish the work. See our roof repairs page or report a leak.
What roofing services do you provide in Stockport?
Around a third of our work takes us into East Cheshire, from the hillside properties of Macclesfield to the premium homes of Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
